For the fifth consecutive year, Ruinart is miart’s official Champagne, bringing to the Milanese fair an extraordinary experience of enjoyment and relax.
Founded in Reims on September 1, 1729, Ruinart is the oldest Champagne House in the world. Its successful history has been built by the Ruinart family on a consolidated interplay between tradition and innovation, which echoes the Maison’s ongoing commitment towards the arts and culture. Indeed, not only Ruinart sustains an array of international art fairs but, every year, it also invites an artist to realise an exceptional masterpiece.
On the occasion of miart, Ruinart will present its new 2017 artistic collaboration with renowned artist Jaume Plensa. The project “Jaume Plensa for Ruinart” is Plensa’s unique vision of the Maison through his own artistic research: being his most important body of works a series of silhouettes of human bodies seated or kneeling who seem to scrutinise the horizon in a meditative manner, for Ruinart Plensa has realised an important sculpture resembling a silent witness, anchored in the soil like the vine and in recognition of the Champagne roots of Ruinart’s founder Dom Thierry Ruinart. It is made up of universal language elements: signs, letters originating from eight different alphabets – Latin, Greek, Arabic (so close to the heart of dom Thierry Ruinart), but also Hebrew, Chinese, Japanese, Russian and Hindi.
“We are happy and proud of this artistic partnership with Jaume Plensa. Through contemporary art, Maison Ruinart wants to share its heritage, history, savoir-faire and the excellence of its wines around the world,” says Andrea Pasqua, Senior Brand Manager Ruinart. “The masterpiece, after Basel Hong Kong, will be present at Frieze NY, Basel Art Basel, Miami Art Basel, Frieze London, FIAC (Paris)… At miart, we have the opportunity to unveil a special book with a customised cover by the artist: an artwork that unveils the inspiration and the thorough binding between Jaume Plensa and Maison Ruinart”.
As the official Champagne of miart since 2013, Ruinart will also pamper miart’s VIP guests with an exclusive space within the VIP lounge, where Plensa’s masterpiece will be exhibited.
